Hi, I’m Ginny — or 赵鸢飞.
My Chinese name carries the idea of a kite in flight: 鸢 is a kite, and 飞 means to fly. My parents gave me this name because they wanted me to be adventurous, ambitious, and fly high. No pressure, obviously. I’m still trying to live up to it.
I’m a product designer based in New York City 🗽, currently designing for financial analysts at Kensho Technologies ↗, S&P Global’s AI innovation hub. My favorite kind of work is making complicated things feel less complicated: untangling abstract concepts, understanding messy workflows, and turning them into product experiences that feel clear, useful, and occasionally even satisfying.
Most of my recent work sits at the intersection of AI and enterprise software: agentic financial research platforms, GenAI chatbot stores, AI transcription workflows, and design systems for technical products. (yes, I am your AI B2B SaaS girlie 💃 :P)
I studied Human-Computer Interaction 🤖 and Statistics & Machine Learning at Carnegie Mellon University 🍈 ↗, which gave me a strong tolerance for ambiguity, late nights, and explaining complex ideas on very little sleep. It was intense, formative, occasionally dramatic, and full of people I learned a lot from.
How I work
Ownership
I care about the product beyond my design files: the second look, the cleaner edge case, the interaction that finally feels right.
Practicality
I like making the thing, learning from it, and adjusting. Debate has its place, but shipping something real teaches faster.
Directness
I like clear feedback, healthy disagreement, and people who can say what they mean respectfully.
Humor
I like real banter: people who can joke around, read the room, and not make every conversation feel like it went through legal review.
When I’m not designing
I’m someone who picks up new hobbies constantly and somehow keeps up with a few of them.
Climbing
Mostly indoor bouldering, occasionally outdoors when I feel brave.
Photography
I’ve been taking snapshots of my life since high school. Film is still my favorite. One thing I miss about college is having easy access to a darkroom where I could develop film myself, which is so therapeutic to me.
Movies
I spend a suspicious amount of time on Letterboxd for someone who thinks the UI is questionable. Current favorites: Nostalgia, After Life, The Last Emperor, and Yi Yi.

A surprisingly long-running relationship. Low drama, high emotional investment.
